July 29: Paper Upload Links Available

Presenters can now upload their paper and presentation files after logging in. We apologize that it took us so long to provide the paper and presentation file upload facilities. Should you experience any technical problems, please inform us. We accept both docbook or html files. Presentations can be submitted as SVG, HTML or PDF files.

July 29: Lost Password Functionality again available

Due to a server migration and missing configuration, the "lost password" function wasn't available for the past 2-3 weeks. It is now available again. The functionality may not work with Internet Explorer but should work with all other browsers. We are looking into fixing the IE problem.

July 11: Conference Schedule Available

The conference schedule is now avaible. Please note that it may still change slightly.

July 11: Dinner Event Information Available

The dinner event on Tuesday evening will be on a boat on the river of Seine where you have the opportunity to experience Paris from a different perspective. More information on the dinner event here.

July 7: Further Keynotes Announced

As in past years, one highlight of the conference will be the "SVG Wow" presentation by Erik Dahlström and Vincent Hardy. In addition there will be keynote titled "Efficient SVG" by Rob Russell from Google.

July 5: Hotel Information Available

A list of hotels located near the conference site is now available.

July 2: Templates for the articles.

An html template and the CSS file associted are now available for authors.

June 22: List of Abstracts and Speakers published.

The list of presentation abstracts is now available along with the speakers list. Please note that the lists are still subject to change. We are currently working on the program schedule.

June 22: Payment system.

The payment system is now ready and the participants can pay on line with their creditcard. Pay attention to have an international creditcard if you are not a european participant.

June 17: Delay with the payment system; Early bird deadline postponed two weeks

Unfortunately, the final registration and payment system is delayed a bit. We hope to offer it early next week and will inform you once it is available. As a consequence, the early bird deadline is delayed two weeks until July 12.

June 14: Workshop/Course List now Available

Six workshops and courses had been accepted during the reviewing of the course proposals. Thanks to all who submitted a course proposal. We are looking forward to an interesting workshop day!

June 13: Second Keynote Confirmed

The second confirmed keynote will be held by George James (George James Software Limited) from the OpenStreetMap project titled OpenStreetMap - The challenges and opportunities that OpenStreetMap presents for SVG. OpenStreetMap is a global world map down to street scale level edited by thousands of volunteers around the world. The project also uses SVG to render map tiles in one of its tool chains.

May 13: First Keynote Confirmed

The first confirmed keynote will be held by Ted Johnson from Microsoft titled From Zero to SVG in One Year - SVG 1.1 in Internet Explorer 9. With SVG in IE9 it will be "ubiquitously available" in all modern browsers - true to our conference motto "Ubiquitous SVG".

May 11: Reviewing Delay

The date for informing abstract submitters about acceptance is postponed to May 19. Thank you for your patience!

May 4: Google is a new Platinum Sponsor

We are happy to announce Google as a new sponsor at the platinum level.

April 16: Dates

Earlybird date is now June 30.

April 14: Microsoft is a new Platinum Sponsor

Along with our already existing sponsors (Institut Telecom, Netagis and Slippery Rock University) we are happy to announce Microsoft as a new sponsor at the platinum level.

Microsoft just recently announced SVG support in Internet Explorer 9 and is also active in the W3C SVG working group for some months now.

March 31: Registration System.

  • paper upload was accidentally displayed (despite the reviewing has not even started) - temporarily removed the links for the upload
  • corrected issue with country list for user registration when the country had a comma in the name
  • added a confirmation question when removing an abstract so people aren't accidentally removing their abstract

March 31: Extension of the Abstract Submission Deadline

The abstract submission deadline has been extended to April 14 to allow more people to send in abstracts who might have just heard about the conference. Publicity about the conference is increasing. Thank you to everyone who has already sent in abstracts! We already have a wide range of interesting abstract contributions and more are coming in.

March 18: Pricing available and logos.

The pricing page has been updated. The payment procedure is not yet in place but should be soon...
You can use the logos of the media section to help promote the conference.

February 19: Deadline for presentation and course abstracts extended.

The deadline for abstract submissions has been extended to the end of March. We are looking forward to receiving your interesting contributions!

December 20: SVG Open 2010 Website going Online

The SVG Open 2010 website is published with first information on the conference:
